The Baseballs

Band

The members of The Baseballs, Basti, Sam, and Digger, live and work together in Berlin, even though all of them were born in the mid-eighties and are not true city dwellers. Basti hails from Magdeburg, Sam from Reutlingen, and Digger calls Rheine his hometown.

The band was born in 2007 in a Berlin teakitchen within a heavy metal rehearsal complex. There, the three of them met and discovered their common musical interests.

In the same year, they started with initial rehearsal recordings, and in the fall of 2008, the label Warner took notice of the rising artists. A record deal was signed, and in May 2009, they released their debut album, "Strike!"

The album contained twelve songs, all of which were cover versions, but not in the style of Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, or Chuck Berry, as one might expect. Instead, The Baseballs took on current chart hits from artists like Beyoncé, Rihanna, and the Scissor Sisters. This concept provided an exciting listening experience as the originally highly produced songs were dressed in the musical style of the fifties, giving them new nuances.
